Tax Refund Problems with IRS
Do you have tax refund problems with IRS? or DId you get a notice from the IRS?
This can happen when the IRS reviews your tax return and doesn’t allow some of the expenses, deductions, or credits that the you claimed.
This means you might not get the full refund you expected, or you might even owe money to the IRS.
You may be required to take extra steps to claim certain credits or face a ban from receiving credits on future tax returns.
If the IRS determines you committed fraud or flouted the rules to obtain the credit, you can’t claim refundable credits or non-refundable credits up to 10 years.
If you are a low-income taxpayer who needs help in resolving a tax refund problem with the IRS and cannot afford representation, you may qualify for free or low cost assistance from a Low Income Taxpayer Clinics (LITCs).
What are Low Income Taxpayer Clinics (LITCs)?
Low Income Taxpayer Clinics (LITCs) are independent from the IRS and the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS).
LITCs represent individuals whose income is below a certain level and who need to resolve tax problems with the IRS.
LITCs also provide education and outreach to individuals who speak English as a second language (ESL).
What Tax Assitance Can LITCs Provide?
LITCs can represent you before the IRS or in court on:
- Audits
- Appeals
